Brian Chesky joined forces with friend and fellow Rhode Island School of Design graduate, Joe Gebbia, and programmer Nathan Blecharczyk to found Airbnb in 2008. Captain of the RISD hockey team and now CEO of his $25 billion startup, Chesky is considered to be as passionate about leadership and principle as he is about product, brand, and culture. As an evangelist for the "sharing economy," Chesky has described Airbnb as a "physical manifestation of the internet." For a period of three years, Chesky was effectively homeless, living in Airbnb rentals - now he still books an occasional Airbnb for a local "staycation." In 2012, following Hurricane Sandy, Chesky established an Airbnb portal for the public to provide free housing for hurricane victims. Since then the company has maintained a disaster response program, most recently helping provide shelter for people displaced by fires in Fort McMurray, Canada and floods in Paris, France.

We all live with unknown potential. The younger you are, the more unknown it is. But the clock ticks by each day of your life. And each day someone young isn’t exposed to what is possible, their potential slowly dims.
