David Rockefeller was the former head of Chase Manhattan Bank, and a long-time member and chair of the Council on Foreign Relations. A member of the Rockefeller family, which gained its wealth through the establishment of the Standard Oil Company - now ExxonMobil - David Rockefeller was a steward of the family's philanthropy. He died March 20, 2017 at the age of 101.
