Marc Benioff is the founder of Salesforce, the CRM giant, where he established a 1-1-1 model of "integrated corporate philanthropy," where the company gives to the communities it serves by contributing one percent of its equity, employee hours, and product. Beginning in 2010, the Benioffs have given $250 million to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. By limiting Salesforce's business activity, Benioff has also been effective in pressuring states, notably Indiana and Georgia, against enacting legislation seen as discriminatory. Lynne Benioff, a marketing consultant, is a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of California San Francisco Foundation, the Board of Directors of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, and the Board of Directors of Common Sense Media. In 2015, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Presidio Trust by President Barack Obama.
